On January 29, 2024, at the Arts Council in Karachi, a seminar on Sur Kapaiti was conducted by Dr. Sahar Gul, aimed at exploring the intricacies of Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai’s masterpiece, Sur Kapaiti. The event began with the screening of a documentary titled “Sur Kapaiti of Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai,”by Atta Chaniho, which provided a visual introduction to the sur, setting the tone for the in-depth discussions that followed. The seminar featured a series of presentations that offered insights into various aspects of Sur Kapaiti, enriching the audience’s understanding of this timeless composition. Topics covered included the essence and thematic richness of Sur Kapaiti, its artistic elements intertwined with spirituality, its cultural and literary significance, and its inspirational aspects in relation to contemporary life.
The event concluded with remarks from Shamsul Haq Memon, Trustee of the Endowment Fund Trust, who summarized the key highlights and expressed gratitude to all involved.
