This Tomb is a load bearing structure, which consists of mainly two common materials: burnt brick and sand stone. The sub-structure is constructed of machine dressed stone laid in lime mortar and super structure is constructed of lime stone blocks and burnt bricks of two different dimensions. Machinedressed stone is used only up to sill level with combination of bricks while above sill level only burnt bricks are used. The two different brick sizes are 10” x 10” x 11/2” and 8”x4”x 1 ½”; lime, sand and chiroli are used as mortar; and rendering work is done by using lime, sand with jute and straw/bhoosa. The Tomb has a single entrance on the southern side with high recessed arch panels and a large Tudor arch within it, two open arch windows on eastern side and northern side respectively. The Mehrab is on the western side of Tomb. One grave is located at the center of the Tomb and is constructed using lime stone blocks with Quranic verses carved on them.
The tomb structure was vulnerable in condition and needed immediately stabilization and restoration. The dome and drum were collapsed. Lime mortar was eroded from the masonry and consequently, the bricks were separated from the masonry unit. Pointing work was done on the exterior walls in lime mortar and subsequently the bricks were started spalling due to erosion of the mortar. The facade of the Tomb was in a vulnerable condition. It was decorated with alternative high recessed rectangular panels with lime plaster and Multani Gutka face brick of size 8”x4”x1
½”. The pointing work was done in long recessed rectangular panels which are also flimsy. There is one grave inside the tomb in a very dilapidated condition. To save the monument EFT started restoration work in April 2022 and completed in June 2023.
