Recognizing the undeniable impact of heavy rainfall and flash floods on historical monuments and sites in Sindh, the Research Cell organized a two-day conference on “Disaster Management: Cultural Monuments and Heritage.” The conference brought together experts and stakeholders to discuss urgent issues related to monuments and museums, outlining various approaches and potential solutions to improve disaster risk management for cultural heritage. The proceedings of the conference resulted in a set of recommendations, presented as potential strategies and guidelines for mitigating future risks to Sindh’s cultural monuments and heritage sites posed by any disaster. Among the recommendations was the establishment of a Disaster Management Cell.
