Dahlil Kot’s uniqueness owes to its construction in a perfect circle, with twelve bastions in its circumference. It can be inferred that the designers and the architects were well-acquainted with the principles of geometry and astrology.

At present, there is a populous village, both inside and outside the precincts of the fort; which is detrimental to its integrity. Jurji Zaydan writes; ‘’After the Rai dynasty, the Brahman dynasty built a number of forts in Sindh: Multan, Uch, Moa, Arror, Bahror, Dahlila, Alore, Siwistan, Brahmanabad, Nerun Kot, and Debal forts, some forts have double walls.

The fortification wall is built of mud, its interior and exterior core was originally covered, as evidence shows, with burnt bricks. It was strengthened by horizontal timber framing which are now exposed due to weathering. The parapet is crowned by merlons. Altogether, there are twelve semi-circular bastions that are equally spaced around the outer wall of the fort.
