Jamot Farm House was built around 1870 by Syed Muhammad Alam Shah. The house consisting of a gorgeous period single story family house with 11600 sft. accommodation, an exquisitely landscaped garden with plants of great richness and beauty on the front of the house and a lined fishpond (420 x 210 x 7 feet).

The single story house with wraparound arcaded verandah is load bearing brick masonry structure constructed in baked brick of size 12” x 6”x 3” in mud mortar, finished on interior with lime plaster and on exterior with lime pointing, both finishing items are now nonexistent. Inside the living room flanked by bedrooms on either side have kashi tile ceiling with supporting structure consisting of iron girders and joists. The floor is of encaustic plain/patterned colored cement tile. The paneled doors and windows and colored glass multi paned round arch fanlights of living room and bedrooms are all of teakwood. The eastern exterior partly paneled, and partly glazed window topped by colored glass multi-paned transom and semicircular fanlights are provided with wonderful faux wrought iron grilles infill the facades of the wraparound arcaded verandah of the house were decorated with kashi tile roundels, which feature is now missing. The parapet of the flat roof of the house is decorated with a band of kashi tile and molding. There is no structure of this kind in the area.

Due to the large-scale additions, alterations and renovation works carried out caused damage to the building structurally and aesthetically. Moreover, because of the replacement of lime plaster, lime pointing and lime wash paints with impermeable cement plaster and acrylic paints, the load bearing brick masonry structure of the house has stopped breathing which in turn has given rise to the problem of damp and dry rot besides development of cracks in brick masonry walls above arches and uneven settlement of encaustic cement tile floor at a few places. Roof leakage is yet another problem faced at the place for quite some time.

The owner has approached EFT to help rescue and restoration it to original form and grandeur. The restoration work started on 24th April, 2022 and completed in June 2023.
